The Way of Philosophy stands out with its unique properties and strengths. The designer partially separates the entrance, living room, and dining room, while maintaining the continuity of space through the connection of materials. The marble texture extends from the entrance to the living room, while the wood veneer flows from the hallway to the dining room. This design approach is inspired by the motional and motionless aspects of oriental philosophy.
In the bedrooms, the cold marble is replaced with soft materials, creating a sense of tenderness and symbolizing the householders' progressive relaxation into the private realm. This thoughtful design choice enhances the overall atmosphere and comfort of the space.
The realization of The Way of Philosophy involves the selection of environment-friendly construction materials for the living and dining room. These materials not only contribute to the artistic quality of the wall surface with their natural lines and grains but also balance their toughness with the greenery extending from indoor to the balcony.
The Way of Philosophy spans across 219 square meters and was completed between September 2016 and April 2017 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This exceptional design has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2018. This prestigious award acknowledges the well-designed, practical, and innovative nature of the project, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
